Overview
The Lhotse Expedition offers an incredible opportunity to climb the world’s fourth highest mountain, standing at 8,516 meters (27,940 feet). Located just south of Mount Everest, Lhotse is known for its dramatic ridges and challenging routes. The expedition takes climbers through the beautiful Khumbu region of Nepal, home to the Sherpa people and stunning Himalayan landscapes. Itinerary
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Our team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Take some time to rest and recover from your journey. In the evening, we will have a welcome dinner and briefing about the expedition.
Spend the day exploring the cultural and historical sites of Kathmandu, including Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath Stupa. Finalize your preparations for the expedition, including checking equipment and gear.
Take a scenic flight to Lukla and begin the trek to Phakding. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, passing through small villages and lush forests.
Continue trekking along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and ascending through pine forests. Reach Namche Bazaar, the bustling hub of the Khumbu region.
Spend the day acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar. Explore the town, visit local markets, and take a short hike to Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks.
Trek through rhododendron forests and along ridges with stunning mountain views. Arrive at Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region.
Descend through forests and cross the Imja Khola before ascending to Pangboche. Continue to Dingboche, passing through picturesque landscapes and terraced fields.
Take a rest day in Dingboche to acclimatize. Explore the village and take a short hike to Nagarjun Hill for panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Makalu, and other peaks.
Continue trekking through the alpine landscape, passing through Dughla and the memorials of climbers. Ascend to Lobuche, with views of Nuptse, Lobuche Peak, and other surrounding mountains.
Trek along the Khumbu Glacier to reach Everest Base Camp. Explore the base camp area and take in the incredible views. Return to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.
Early morning hike to Kala Patthar for sunrise views of Everest and surrounding peaks. Descend back to Gorak Shep and continue trekking to Lobuche.
Trek to Lhotse Base Camp, where you will set up camp and start preparations for the climb. The trail offers stunning views of the Lhotse Face and surrounding peaks.
This period is dedicated to acclimatization, training, and the actual ascent of Mount Lhotse. You will have several rotations between Lhotse Base Camp and higher camps to acclimatize and prepare for the summit push.
After the summit, begin your descent. Trek back to Lobuche, retracing your steps through the Khumbu region.
Continue descending to Tengboche. Enjoy the scenic views and the hospitality of the local villages.
Trek back to Namche Bazaar, passing through beautiful forests and along ridges with stunning mountain views.
Descend to Lukla, where the trek began. Celebrate the completion of the expedition with your team.
Take a flight back to Kathmandu, enjoying the scenic journey through the Himalayas. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and rest.
Take a well-deserved rest day in Kathmandu. Explore the city, do some shopping, or simply relax. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner.
Transfer to the airport for your international flight home.

FAQs
The best time is during the pre-monsoon (spring) season from April to early June and the post-monsoon (autumn) season from late September to November, when weather conditions are most favorable for climbing.
Climbers should have excellent physical fitness, prior high-altitude climbing experience, and technical climbing skills. Experience with ice and rock climbing is essential.
Acclimatization days are built into the itinerary to help climbers adjust to the altitude. Proper hydration, gradual ascent, and physical conditioning are crucial for coping with high-altitude conditions.
